We aim to make this website as accessible to as wide a range of web users as possible. Further to that the site is built with the four main W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in mind:

• Provide text alternatives for non-text content.
• Provide captions and alternatives for audio and video content.
• Make content adaptable; and make it available to assistive technologies.
• Use sufficient contrast to make things easy to see and hear.

• Make all functionality keyboard accessible.
• Give users enough time to read and use content.
• Do not use content that causes seizures.
• Help users navigate and find content.

 

Understandable

• Make text readable and understandable.
• Make content appear and operate in predictable ways.
• Help users avoid and correct mistakes.

Maximize compatibility with current and future technologies.

 

2. Access Keys

Most web browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key or Control + Alt + an access key.

• All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
• All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 tags for subtitles.

 

4. Images and Links

• All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes.
• Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.
• All links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail.
• Links are clearly written to make sense out of context.

 

5. Visual design

• This site uses cascading style sheets (CSS) for visual layout.
• This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified "text size" option in visual browsers.
• If your browser does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
• This site is useable on every main browser on both Windows and Macintosh platforms .
